Sportcast × pripares: Four systems. Over ten years. In daily live operation.

Since 2013, we've been supporting Sportcast with the TV production of the Bundesliga.

About Sportcast

Sportcast GmbH is a subsidiary of the DFL and has produced the worldwide TV base signal for all Bundesliga matches since 2006. The company also handles international distribution to over 200 countries.

617 Matches. over 200 Countries.

Behind every match runs planning and quality software that we helped build.

A Bundesliga matchday takes shape in software, long before kickoff.

In the production run-up, crews are assembled, external teams accredited, shooting locations and dates set. Before each match, the matchday plan records who needs to be where and with which task. On production day itself, everyone works through standardised checklists, so that nothing gets forgotten and the quality standards are met. After the production, incidents are documented and reports compiled, to keep the quality high for future broadcasts.

All this organisation around the matchday runs on systems we built.

Four systems in live operation

Our work for Sportcast began in 2013 with a single planning tool. Over the years, one assignment turned into four systems.

Since 2014

PLAN-IT: personnel and equipment planning

The high number of matches per season across the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga requires planning that brings together hundreds of people, locations, technical disciplines and dates. That's what we built PLAN-IT for.

Today, around 80 Sportcast users work with the system: the schedulers assemble the crews match by match, the finance department controls costs and reviews invoices, and the production managers can access all this data anytime. Through the integrated Web Rate-Card Tool, external customers like ARD can book additional technical services on their own that flow directly into the planning. Master data, deployment plans, blocked dates, reporting: all in one system.

Since 2015

MST: accreditation of external crews

On every Bundesliga matchday, it isn't only Sportcast teams in the stadium. Broadcasters bring their own ENG teams, clubs send their media crews, DFL technical partners provide stadium technology. All of them need accreditation before the match, and Sportcast, as host broadcaster, grants it.

MST is the platform that handles this. External users register their teams online, specify tasks and shooting locations, upload documents. Sportcast reviews, approves or declines, assigns the teams to the corresponding shooting locations and creates the camera overview.

Since 2022

Dispo-Tool: Unified matchday plan

A TV production is only as good as the information that reaches every person involved on time. Directors, camera operators and all other roles need to know when to be where, which match information matters, and what specifics the respective location brings.

The Dispo-Tool gives production managers a unified structure for the matchday plan: cover page, notes, crew list, dates and much more. Content from PLAN-IT flows in automatically and the production manager adds details for the respective match. Where each PM used to work with their own format, there is now consistent documentation for every Bundesliga match.

Since July 2025

RePort: digital quality assurance

RePort is a central platform for the quality management of TV productions. It spans the dashboard with digital checklists, the structured incident management, and the creation and maintenance of reports. A differentiated user management controls who can access which content.

More on RePort

Four tools, all connected. All of them mission-critical.

What's maintained in one system is available to the others: through coordinated data models and integrated interfaces. No manual transfer. No duplicate maintenance. What fails here fails on Bundesliga matchday.
